East on McGuinness Blvd, Left on Norman ave, through 2 lights, on Right at fire Hydrant. On-street parking is fairly easy, but check the signs well for street cleaning days. From LaGuardia airport A taxi is easiest and is usually around $25 and takes 15 minutes. By car: Take the BQE over the Kosciuszko Bridge to the Meeker/Morgan Ave exit. Continue on Meeker Ave a few blocks, then right onto McGuinness Ave. Continue a few blocks, then left onto Norman Ave. Go through two lights, then it's on the right by the fire hydrant. It says 'Sparrow Salon' on the front. From JFK a taxi is about $35-$45 and takes 20-30 minutes. It says 'Sparrow Salon' on the front.By subway: You can take the AirTrain to Jamaica, switch to the E subway towards Manhattan, get off at 23rd St/Queens Plaza-last stop before Manhattan, and switch to the G train towards Brooklyn. Go 3 stops and get off at the Nassau Ave stop. Take the Norman Ave exit, cross Manhattan Ave, and we are the first house with a front yard on the left. It says 'Sparrow Salon' on the front. This is a fairly easy trip, and takes about 75 minutes. From Newark Airport: Pick-up: The easiest is to arrange in advance to have my car service pick you up for $55 plus tolls and tip (about $75 total). They also know my neighborhood, so it's an advantage. You will need a cell phone for them to call you, or it will cost $10/hour for them to park and meet you inside with a sign. If you have to go through customs please let them know and arrange a later pickup time so they don't have to wait too long. Please email me for contact info.By taxi: A regular taxi from Newark is $90. Go over the Williamsburg Bridge middle roadway to Mcguinness Ave exit. Left off the exit onto McGuinness. A few blocks to Left on Norman Ave. Go through 2 lights, were on the right at fire hydrant.I prefer to take the bus to Bryant Park or Grand Central (just exit the airport, and the buses come right out front. Ask for any bus to Manhattan and it's about $12) and then hail a taxi from there, which is about $15- take the 59th St bridge, lower roadway, then go right on Jackson Ave. Left over the Pulaski Bridge, continue on McGuinness, right on Norman Ave, through two lights, and were on the right at the fire hydrant. It says Sparrow Salon out front. Otherwise you can take the train to Grand Central, and then get the 7 train to the G train to the Nassau Ave stop, Norman Ave exit. There are a lot of steps to climb to transfer from the 7 to the G train, so it's not the best way to go if you have a lot of baggage. If youre driving or coming in another way not listed, there are so many ways to come into New York. Google Maps is a great website for finding out how to get anywhere in NYC. On-street parking is not difficult - you can almost always find a spot within a few blocks. Just read the signs well.
