The lodge and the location:
Let greenpoint lodge be your home away from home. A relaxed, quiet, and fun atmosphere in what's been voted of the best neighborhoods in new york. Private rooms and apartments offer a lovely, quiet place to recoup after a long day of sightseeing, before heading out again to explore the local neighborhood's nightlife.

15 minutes to manhattan, 2 blocks from a park, and surrounded by cafes, galleries, bars, and restaurants. The g nassau ave subway is outside the front door and the l bedford ave subway is 10 blocks away. Easy access to all airports, especially laguardia and jfk.

The greenpoint lodge is in a private home and very well-maintained. It is clean, quiet, friendly, and safe. Apartments are fully cleaned between each guest and sheets and towels are all high quality organic cotton. All mattresses are firm and comfortable, and an assortment of different pillows are provided.

The lodge is a 'turn-key' rental, meaning there is not a full-time staff. The house manager is on site for a few hours most days, and we are always reachable by phone or email for any questions, or requests. There is an info pack in each room with questions answered, neighborhood info, and restaurant recommendations. If you are looking for a place with a full time staff, this isn't for you. If you want a private, cozy, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere where you can feel at home without any creepy staff bugging you, then this is the place for you! And we are always available by phone, text or email if you need anything!

Each apartment has it's own bathroom and kitchen, fully stocked with all the pots, pans, and dishes you might need. All sheets and towels are provided as well as coffee and a coffee maker, cable tv, wifi, and laundry machines.

There is a small boutique spa and hair salon on the ground floor, so if you need to unwind or want a great new york hairdo just let us know!!

Please note:
Room rates on hw are listed per person, but fee for room is flat rate at total occupancy
There is a $20/person one-time cleaning fee. This applies for each room you rent, if you switch rooms. The longer you rent, the cheaper it becomes!

Important - read all room descriptions before booking! - i have tried to make my listing work within the booking engine/ configuration. Where hostelworld says '4 bed' it means it sleeps up to 4 people maximum - if you share beds! Please check the room listing to see exactly how many beds and what size they are. Hostelworld lists the price per person, but all prices are for the max number of people for each unit, regardless of number of people there will be. Thanks! (ie. A 2-bed listed at $36/night is really $72/night whether it is 1-2 people). All deposits are paid directly to and are nonrefundable.

Basic double private room - 1 double bed - sleeps up to two people aka 'blue room' - this is a small but lovely and quiet room overlooking the backyard. Closet and dresser outside the room. Tv is in the living room. Common areas shared with one other room.

'Superior double private room' aka 'queen loft room' - one queen bed and one double bed - sleeps up to two people. Beautiful, sunny room with a queen bed in the loft and a double futon below. It has its own entrance from the hall. Tv in the room. Kitchen and bathroom are shared with two other rooms.

'Superior 2-bed apartment' aka double suite - one single bed and one double bed- sleeps up to two people. Crips, clean, and sunny private living room and bedroom with a shared bathroom and kitchen. '4-bed ensuite' - aka 'one bedroom apartment'. One double bed and one queen futon - sleeps up to 4 people. This is a full, private, one-bedroom apartment with a large backyard. There is a double bed in the bedroom, and a comfortable queen futon in the living room. That means there are 2 beds, sleeping a total of 4 people. Tv in the bedroom. There is also a full kitchen and private bath.

Once you have made your booking hostelworld will send you a confirmation - in the hostel conditions will be included the basic check in instructions along with the code. Cancellation policy: because i am a small, boutique hostel, late cancellations are very harmful to my business. 95 Norman Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11222

Enter through the glass spa door.

By subway:
G train to Nassau Ave, Norman Ave exit.
L train to Bedford Ave, walk north on Bedford to end, then left, first right, on left.

By car:
BQE to McGuinness Ave exit (from south/Williamsburg Bridge) or Morgan ave exit (from North/Queens). East on McGuinness Blvd, Left on Norman ave, through 2 lights, on Right at fire Hydrant.
On-street parking is fairly easy, but check the signs well for street cleaning days.

From LaGuardia airport
A taxi is easiest and is usually around $25 and takes 15 minutes.
By car: Take the BQE over the Kosciuszko Bridge to the Meeker/Morgan Ave exit. Continue on Meeker Ave a few blocks, then right onto McGuinness Ave. Continue a few blocks, then left onto Norman Ave. Go through two lights, then it's on the right by the fire hydrant. It says 'Sparrow Salon' on the front.

From JFK a taxi is about $35-$45 and takes 20-30 minutes.
By subway: You can take the AirTrain to Jamaica, switch to the E subway towards Manhattan, get off at 23rd St/Queens Plaza-last stop before Manhattan, and switch to the G train towards Brooklyn. Go 3 stops and get off at the Nassau Ave stop. Take the Norman Ave exit, cross Manhattan Ave, and we are the first house with a front yard on the left. It says 'Sparrow Salon' on the front. This is a fairly easy trip, and takes about 75 minutes.

From Newark Airport:
Pick-up: The easiest is to arrange in advance to have my car service pick you up for $55 plus tolls and tip (about $75 total). They also know my neighborhood, so it's an advantage. You will need a cell phone for them to call you, or it will cost $10/hour for them to park and meet you inside with a sign. If you have to go through customs please let them know and arrange a later pickup time so they don't have to wait too long. Please email me for contact info.
By taxi: A regular taxi from Newark is $90. Go over the Williamsburg Bridge middle roadway to Mcguinness Ave exit. Left off the exit onto McGuinness. A few blocks to Left on Norman Ave. Go through 2 lights, were on the right at fire hydrant.
I prefer to take the bus to Bryant Park or Grand Central (just exit the airport, and the buses come right out front. Ask for any bus to Manhattan and it's about $12) and then hail a taxi from there, which is about $15- take the 59th St bridge, lower roadway, then go right on Jackson Ave. Left over the Pulaski Bridge, continue on McGuinness, right on Norman Ave, through two lights, and were on the right at the fire hydrant. It says Sparrow Salon out front.
Otherwise you can take the train to Grand Central, and then get the 7 train to the G train to the Nassau Ave stop, Norman Ave exit. There are a lot of steps to climb to transfer from the 7 to the G train, so it's not the best way to go if you have a lot of baggage.

If youre driving or coming in another way not listed, there are so many ways to come into New York. Google Maps is a great website for finding out how to get anywhere in NYC.

On-street parking is not difficult - you can almost always find a spot within a few blocks. Just read the signs well.
