*From Newcastle Station
Upon exiting the station cross the road in front of you, there should be a building on the other side with a sign 'employment plus' turn right at this building onto Scott St. From here you should be able to see a bus stop about 20m down the road. From here you can either walk (about 4 or 5 minutes) or hop on any bus and get off after 2 stops. Once you have reached the second bus stop (which would be the 3rd bus stop along Scott St if you were walking) you should be directly in front of the hostel. There will be a pub called the theatre lane, (it may also have signs on it saying crown & anchor) inside the pub you will find reception (and a drink).
*From the Bus Station
This is almost the same as above; the bus station is located behind the train station. After exiting the bus you should see an old building with a clock tower in front of you. Walk in this direction and turn right following the train station fence. You should end up at the entry to the train station; continue across the road following the instructions above.
*From the Airport
Bus #130 leaves Newcastle airport roughly every hour and ends at the Newcastle Bus Station (above). This trip takes about 45 minutes. This link is a timetable of the scheduled busses. http://www.pscoaches.com.au/timetables/network-timetables/Port_Stephens_To_Newcastle.pdf
We are located right in the CBD of Newcastle close to shops, bars and nightlife. There is a supermarket 20m down the street and a 24hr convenience store across the road. We are also located at the end of the Newcastle mall which is filled with cafes, shops and small market stalls. Best of all Newcastle's beaches are only a 5 minute walk away.
