The Hideaway lies on the east coast of 'Eua Island, a small island belonging to The Kingdom of Tonga, making it the best place to watch the sun melt away into the horizon. 'Eua's diverse landscape offers a wide range of activities in a small space from trekking through our National Park, 4WD tour, bird watching, horse riding, caving, relaxing on the beach, fishing and of course Whale watching between July and November when the Southern Humpback whales come back Tonga's waters to breed and mate. Whale watching can be done from both land and boat because the water beyond the reef gets very deep very quick allowing these magnificent marine mammals to swim very close to shore. At the Hideaway we have a viewing platform in prime position for watching the whales all day. There are 6 ensuite rooms and 2 tongan fales. We also have space available for camping. We allow the use of our kitchen and also have a very tasty menu. At The Hideaway Our aim is to make your experience on 'Eua Island unforgettable. |

We are located 5 minutes drive from the ferry and 10 minutes drive from the airport.
We pick all our guests up free of charge.
Now to get to 'Eua island there are two options. By plane or ferry.

FERRY TIMETABLE. The ferry to Eua leaves Tongatapu, main island from
Queen Salote wharf. It leaves at 1230noon. Get to this wharf at 1145am. Buy your tickets from the ferry staff who are dressed in light blue uniform OR just ask the locals where the ferry to Eua is and where do you buy your tickets from. Then wait under the shelter with all the other passengers to board at 1215pm for a 1230 departure. Fare is $30T 1 way, per person. The ferry to Eua at the moment is running only on Tues, Thurs and Sat. Her phone is (00676)28798 & mob (00676)55496. FLIGHT TIMETABLE, No flights Sundays. Depart Tongatapu to Eua Is. There is 1 am flight and 1 pm flight, everyday except Sundays. AM FLIGHT - Depart Tongatapu 830 arrive Eua 840. PM FLIGHT - same route : Tongatapu to Eua. 1620 and arrive Eua Is 1630. Fare is $65T to $75T, adult, 1 way. The return flights back to Tongatapu from Eua Is is basically the same flights, they just un-load, load and fly back straight away. Just allow 20min to half an hour for un-load, load, am and pm flights.
