About The Surf Shack Bar, Grill and Hostel

The Surf Shack Hostel is located in the town of Hengchun in southern Taiwan. We are 15min north from the tourist town of Kenting.

Additional Information
We are a western style restaurant and bar on the 1st fl and have 5 rooms on the 2nd & 3rd floors. We also offer surf tours, surf lessons, board rentals and scuba diving tours in the local tropical waters. We can also arrange scooter rentals to explore the local sites. www.taiwansurfshack.com.

There was a mix up with the booking. We got the twin bed instead of the double. It seems this could be a problem with the booking sites double booking us though. Im not sure and dont think the staff new either which was a bit embarrasing for all. The twin room was fine though and probably better as its on the top floor with good access to the shared toilet/shower and roof terrace. The wirelss didnt work as the signal was very poor! There is reasonable western food available. OK for what you pay Martin, from England ~ 7th Sep 2009

This not a "Surf Shack" Sure, a ten minute drive through heavy trafic will take you to Back Bay...not one of the greatest beaches in Taiwan. It is on a main street...wedged between similar shops. I'm a resident, not a tourist. My wife...the real boss...was not pleased. Thomas, from USA ~ 23rd Aug 2009
