The Ottawa Backpackers Inn is ideally located in the centre of most tourist attractions such as the parliament building and the famous Byward Market. We have spacious, clean accommodation in either a dorm style room or a private room at a budget rate; the hostel is owned and operated independently. Our hostellers describe us as their "home away from home". We offer free wireless internet and free tea and coffee for all guests. Linen is provided free of charge and free lockers are available (guests provide their own locks). We have a fully equipped kitchen and coin-operated laundry facilities. There is a 24 hour supermarket across the street and we are close to shops, tourist attractions, cinemas, clubs, restaurants and pubs/bars. We have a comfortable lounge common area and our friendly staff are always eager to help. There are no additional membership costs and tax is included in the price. We provide parking for $7 per night. Allergy warning: We have a cat in the hostel. Beware in case of allergies. Check in is between 12pm - 12am. |

From the Bus Station: Walk one block east to Bank Street. Take northbound bus #1 (Ottawa-Rockliffe) to Dalhousie Street and York Street OR take northbound bus #7 (St. Laurent) to Rideau Street and Cumberland Street. From either stop, it is a 2 minute walk to the hostel (203 York Street). Alternatively, $12 taxi or 45 minute walk. If coming from Montreal, ask driver before boarding bus to drop you off at University of Ottawa (7 minute walk to hostel).
From the VIA Train station: Take any bus #95 going downtown to MacKenzie King Bridge * 10 minute walk through Rideau Mall and Byward Market to doorstep. Alternatively, $15 taxi or 1 hour walk.
By Car: From Highway #417 take the Nicholas Street exit all the way to the end (Rideau Street). Turn right and go two blocks to King Edward Avenue. Turn left on King Edward Avenue and then take the next left onto York Street (203 York Street).
From the Airport: Take bus #97 (Kanata) to MacKenzie King Bridge * 10 minute walk through Rideau Mall and Byward Market to doorstep. Alternatively, $35 taxi or $12 airport shuttle bus to Courtyard Mariott Hotel (two minute walk from hotel).
