A bit out of the way from the sights, but very near a metro station, so not a big worrier .The area in which the Y&H resides is known as the Latin Quarter, which can get fairly busy and loud at night. But really great if you want to partake in the night life (you don't have far to go after hitting up the bar). Staff were helpful, and breakfast was included.

Location is great. It's already near the major Paris attractions and its very close to the Metro. This is a good hostel for the younger crowd. There's a lot of restaurants on the same street that stay open til the wee hours of the morning. That's our only complaint about the place. Noisy people outside could keep you from getting a good night's sleep.

I always felt dirty here. The bathrooms and showers were disgusting and the rooms were small and crowded. We were kicked out of our rooms every day at 11 am and could not go back into our rooms again until 4pm, The social area was small and uncomfortable.

Staff was okay, either friendly and not helpful or helpful and not friendly. Location is great if youre into bars and student restaurants, but its a FAR walk from any tourist site. Luckily, the train system in Paris is very good. Its pretty clean, but overall not a great hostel. Terrible showers and very uncomfortable beds.
