Whether you are a backpacker, visiting friends or holidaying here in Mexico, Casa del Shiva is the perfect place to relax, have fun and meet other travellers… Casa del Shiva is based in a more local, colourful area, slightly away from the mayhem of the very busy centre in playa del Carmen. The centre and the beaches are still very easily reached down one straight road which takes less than 10 mins on a bike or bus!! So you are still only 10 mins away from paradise Caribbean beaches …… Here in Casa del Shiva we have two spotlessly clean, bright and spacious dorms, 2 kingsize rooms, a twin room, a triple and a double room. All with fans and A/C. Dorms: There is a lovely spacious 6 bed mixed dorm, and a beautiful girls only luxury en-suite dorm with a balcony and pool view, this pink themed girls dorm includes a hair dryer and complementarily cotton buds and cotton pads to give the \\\\\\\'own bedroom" feel. Would be perfect for a group of girls on holiday. Both of our dorms are bright, spotlessly clean and spacious. These include comfy beds with fresh linen, reading lights, personal power points and Security lockers. All dorms have fans and Air conditioning. Private rooms: Relax and get a good night's rest…. We have 4 types of private rooms available… • A standard double room with a double bed, mirrors and a TV with a DVD player.Shared bathroom. • A kingsize ground floor room with a kingsize bed, wardrobes, a full length mirror and a sofa. This room has airconditioning and it is with an ensuite bathroom • A twin room and a triple room which are the same as the kingsize room but with 2 or 3 single beds We now have a brand new tropical themed kingsize room with a kingsize bed, an ensuite bathroom, a balcony with a pool view, fitted wardrobes, a full length mirror and a sofa. This lovely room has a ceiling fan and airconditioning and it is the nicest room in the house. Can also be converted into a twin or triple room if preferred. All of our private rooms have a ceiling fan and a/c. The Hostel In the hostel we have lots of outdoor and common space including an outdoor guest kitchen, a BBQ area and an outdoor dining area. There is a lovely shaded chill out area with hammocks and cushions to relax in the day or in the evenings and a beautiful swimming pool to cool off on those hot Mexican days. We also have an indoor living room with cable TV and DVD player if you just want to relax and watch a film. With your stay we offer a good free breakfast. A great way to meet people is over the dinner table….so that's why we offer fantastic home cooked dinners every night for less than a fiver and a BBQ most Sundays. In Casa del Shiva we try to offer all of the home comforts with lots of opportunity to meet fellow travellers. We also offer….. •A Free full and delicious breakfast •Free Wifi and the use of a computer if you don't have one!!! •Free limited bike hire!! •24 hour hot showers •Laundry service and towel hire!! •Tours and excursions We are sure you will enjoy your stay!!! Breakfast is between 8am and 10am on weekdays and 9am until 10.30am on weekends Smoking is only allowed outside in the common areas or on the balconies. Credit cards are not accepted but there is an ATM in the petrol station on the corner. Management reserves the right to refuse entry to guests they feel are not suited to this hostel. |

The easiest way to get here from the centre is to take a taxi to Calle 2 norte. Entre Av 120 y 125 norte in Ejido.If you walk away from the bus terminal and flag down a taxi, it will be cheaper. Should cost around 25 or 30 pesos from the centre.
From the ADO, OCC ATS & Mayab Terminals on Juarez Av:
By bus: walk until Juarez with 30th avenue to take the bus (tucsa) towards Ejido and get off after you see the sports centre on your left. Keep walking up the street past the petrol station on your left, and the supermarket áki´on your right. Cross the main street and past the shops on your right. Take the first right, then the first left. We are the big orange gated house along the stony street.
By car from the Cancun airport, take Route 307 South for 35-40 minutes. STAY IN CENTER LANES IF POSSIBLE. This is the only tricky part of driving in this area. The highway is set up with a local access on the far edge, with the through lines in the center, but they tend to go in and out without much warning. You will pass the Puerto Morelos area at the halfway point. About 20 minutes later, you will go through the Playa del Carmen overpass (stay on right until you see the Juarez Ave Exit, On Juarez Avenue you will turn right. Continue straight. You are close now. when you see the lights with the petrol station on your left, go straight cross the interception, then take the first right then the first left down the stony street. We are the large orange house on the right.
