Open since July 2012, "Magalhães Hostel" is managed by people passionate about travelling. For that reason, they know exactly what travellers are searching for. We invite you for a pleasant time, in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, at "Magalhães Hostel". Magalhaes Hostel is in the center of the medieval town of Ponte da Barca, one of the most picturesque towns in the north of Portugal. The municipality stands right in the heart of the Parque Nacional da Peneda-Geres - recognized by UNESCO as World Network of Biosphere Reserve. Cancellation: 1 day before the arrival The reception is open between 3:30PM to 8:00PM. From 9:00AM to 12:30PM, you should go to the next door, number 20. Payment upon the arrival: Cash Only! Breakfast and taxes are included. If you plan to arrive after 8:00PM, you should send us an e-mail, prior to your arrival, so we can receive you. This information will be posted in the main door, as well as all contacts. |

Arriving from Porto airport:
Catch the Metro to Porto and take off at Aliados. From there, walk to Martires da Patria feelds.
Arriving from Porto:
At Martires da Patria (near Cordoaria), catch the bus operated by Renex. The ticket cost about Euros 6 and the trip will take less than two hours.
At Ponte da Barca, take off the bus at Dr. Francisco Sa Carneiro St. Walk uphill and turn right to Fontainhas St. Go straight till Dr. Joaquim Moreira de Barros St. Magalhaes Hostel should appear right in front of you.
Arriving from Braga:
In the bus station, catch the one operated by Renex or Salvador Alves Pereira. The ticket cost about Eur 4 and the trip will take about one hour.
At Ponte da Barca, proceed exactly as arriving from Porto.
