Our youth hostel is located in the renovated Qingdao Observatory, originally built by German colonial settlers in 1904. It was the first modern observatory
to be built in China. We are situated next to Observatory Park in the heart of old Qingdao, overlooking Qingdao Bay with splendid views of the sea and the metro skyline. Many heritage buildings and historical attractions lie close to our hostel, making our location the perfect place to discover Qingdao.

The best spot to see the skyline is from the Mamahuhu Lounge, located on our rooftop. With its laid-back and friendly atmosphere, this is where our guests mingle and unwind with travellers from all over the world. Local specialties as well as authentic Western food are available at very reasonable prices. Don't forget to try our delicious coffee -- try a cup of our 'Long Black'!

Nearby shopping destinations include both shops and department stores along Zhongshan Road, as well as Qingdao's largest open market, all a five-minute walk from the hostel.

We have installed the latest security technology in our hostel, including IC card locks on all rooms, and free individual lockers in the group dorm rooms. We have staff on desk 24 hours a day, and police routinely patrol
