This guesthouse is located right in the city centre, surrounded by quirky little shops, bars, cafés and museums. Kárastígur is a residential downtown side street only a few steps away from the main shopping street and the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church.
Make yourself at home in one of our double rooms, a single room or in a shared dorm room. Feel free to use our kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room, rooftop patio, TV lounge, sunroom and sauna. Keep in mind that you will be sharing these facilities with our other guests so bring your communal spirit and prepare to make some friends.
We run it but the guests pretty much take care of themselves. You get your own key, the facilities are all included in the price, and all you have to do is make yourself at home.
We ask for common courtesy and hope our guests will all get along, have fun and enjoy themselves.

The international airport in Iceland is in the town of Keflavik a 45 minute drive away from downtown Reykjavik. So unless you are renting a car at the airport it will take you around 1,5 - 2 hours from the time your flight lands for you to pick up your luggage, go through customs, get on a bus and arrive at the doorstep of Our House
Whatever your choice of transfer, once you make it to Reykjavik, you can't help but see Hallgrimskirkja church so you can just head straight for it. When you get there you should start walking down the shopping street Skolavordustigur and Karastigurwill be the first street on your right. We are number 12
The easiest way from the airport is to catch the Airport Express (http://www.airportexpress.is/) bus at the airport and give them our address and they will stop outside the door, or the Flybus + (http://www.re.is/Flybus//) that stops at Hotel Leifur Eiriksson around the corner (it won't annoy the neighbours as much). You could even take a Blue Lagoon bus and stop there on the way into town.
The cheapest way is with the normal Flybus without pickup/dropoff but that only stops at the BSI bus terminal, a 10-15 minutes uphill walk away: http://goo.gl/maps/zOT3)
We wouldn't recommend taking a taxi all the way from Keflavik airport, it's pretty expensive.
Hallgrimskirkja church but also there are: music venues, bars, caf's, museums, theaters, art galleries, craft shops, design shops, all kinds of shops, record stores, antique stores, vintage clothing stores, hot dog stands, noodle stations, fancy restaurants, flea markets, local celebrities out and about, the harbour, cinema, swimming pool, central bus station, tourist info, park benches, fire hydrants, you name it, all within a walking distance from Our House.
