Victory Hostel in Riga, Latvia

Located far from the old city, the area around the hostel felt unsafe. The room looked nice, but upon entering, we were hit immediately by a "rough" smell. We checked the bathroom and it was wet and a majority of it was covered in mold. The carpet outside of the room was also wet. I checked out the same day, for changing rooms would have been a hassle and unsure of the cleanliness of the other room. Jayme, from USA ~ 1st Sep 2009

I liked the hostel. It costed 8 euros (but you can find cheaper) but the room was amazing, with 4 simple bed and I stayed alone. The room was clean, well furnished (with WC/shower, chairs, table, even a TV). The hostel is about 20mn of walking from Riga's central station and 25 from Old Riga but you can take a bus in front of building if you want. The staff was correct but I felt the hostel a bit empty, like the streets in Riga. There was WIFI and I had no security issue. Maxstaley, from Brazil ~ 16th Jul 2009
