Hotel Molino Cuatro Paradas is a charmingly restored flour mill located just outside the popular village of Benaojan on the banks of the river Guadiaro near Ronda, Malaga. It has recently been converted into a comfortable country hotel with a variety of accommodation options.

This rural hotel is the perfect location to explore the mountains and white villages of the Serrania de Ronda and enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife in the adjacent national parks of Sierra de Grazalema and Sierra de las Nieves.

Whether you are a walker, bird-watcher, caver or simply wish to explore the area by car, you will be entranced by the beauty and variety of the mountain scenery. Between the craggy ridges of the Sierras de Libar and Grazelema and the more rounded slopes of the Sierra de las Nieves lie the steep valleys of the rivers Genal and Guadiaro. With the added attraction of the pueblos blancos (white villages) which provide beautiful settings, historic interest and a source of needed refreshment, the area offers a remarkable wealth and variety of experience to visitors of all types.

This country hotel near Ronda in Spain has ten beautifully furnished hotel rooms and a self-contained apartment, the latter features a large sitting room and kitchenette and can be set up with either one or two bedrooms. All hotel rooms are en-suite and have heating, air-conditioning, satellite television, tea/coffee making facilities and some have private balconies. Many open directly on to the central courtyard of the hotel.

The hotel has an indoor restaurant which offers both local and international fare and a small bar area. There is also a popular outdoor restaurant terrace which nestles on the banks of the river with spectacular views of the surrounding crags. There are also two private terraces where hotel guests can read, watch the birds which frequent the river or just relax and savour the ambience.

Rooms can be booked by the day or week, either on a half-board or bed and breakfast basis.

If walking is your preferred pastime you will find the hotel to be your perfect starting point. The owner, Philip Cornes, is a keen hiker and has explored extensively the surrounding sierras. He has documented a wide choice of routes designed for all levels and can offer various aids to help you on your way - ranging from the loan of maps and his own route notes to a semi-organised option including the provision of transportation and the use of a GPS with the routes pre-defined.

By prior arrangement, usually for groups of four or more, guided walking holidays can be tailored to meet the requirements of the group. A week spent walking in the region can offer remarkable variety and would enable the visitor to fully appreciate the varied landscapes and history of this exceptional region of Southern Spain.
