A small,Modern well designed Organic and eco-friendly accommodation to suit the independant traveller.We are small and friendly nestled in bush opposite Lake Okareka,Rotorua, just 12km from the city centre.NO sulphur fumes,bus crowds or city noise here! The perfect place to sit back and relax to recover from Jetlag, road travel or at the end of a busy day visiting the many attractions nearby.Only 3 rooms ,all with an outlook to native bush and gardens.Lake views from the garden and outdoor area.The Lake is just across the road ,perfect for swimming from a jetty just 20m away, kayaks or Fly fishing. . Take a day to enjoy the Lake Okareka Walkway,just a short walk from the Lakestay , with a boardwalk over a wetland area,and lake edge walk with opportunities to view the variety of Bush and Birdlife,or enjoy a swim at 1 of the beaches ,and a picnic.There are 4 Lakes within 5 minute drive ,with lake edge and bush walks . The Lakestay is a great base for visiting attractions further afield in Waikato/Waitomo, Hobbiton(1hr), Bay of Plenty Beaches(1hr) Taupo (1hr) all managable day trips. |

From the Rotorua information centre (Bus stop) in Fenton St, you need to turn left into Te Ngae Road and follow the signs to the Buried Village and Lake Tarawera by turning, right into Tarawera Rd at the roundabout. Follow that road all the way to the Blue Lake(DO NOT take the 1st turn into Okareka Loop rd as you come up Tarawera rd )and turn Left into Okareka Loop Rd past the
Holiday Park. We are 20 meters past the turn off to Summit Rd . Look for our sign.
