The majority of our rooms have a seaview and there is a large terrace to chill out and make further travel plans. Breakfast is available (R$ 10) and eventually we will teach how to cook some traditional dishes from Bahia to our visitors. The hostel is owned and mangaged by local Augusto and expat Thomas , experienced travellers, who are keen to help. They will love to show you the hidden corners and local favourites of Salvador. Portuguese,spanish, german, french and english is spoken. During Carnaval we request that you pay 100% in advance 30 days before arrival. |

This property has specific Terms & Conditions.Our hostel is not suitable for users of wheelchairs as we don´t have elevators.\r\nThere are no other restrictions, everybody is most welcome.\r\nIt´s worth to notice, that our hostel is in front of the sea, so there is a constant sound of waves clashing at the wall of the hostel.

From the airport take any bus that runs along the coast line to Rio Vermelho, Barra or Praca da Sé. From the main bus station take any bus to Rio Vermelho. In Rio Vermelho get off the bus near the japonese restaurant 'Sukiyaki' and walk down the alley toward the ocean. The street turns into a narrow path and after 3min. you reach the hostel, just look out for the sighns. From the japonese restaurant the distance to our hostel is about 100m.
By taxi it takes 40min.to get to the airport and 20min. to the main bus station without traffic. In rush hours it can take more than twice the time. Tell the taxi driver to leave you at Sukiyaki restaurant beteween Rio Vermelho and Ondina. From there you can walk 3min. or give us a call and we pick you up.

On The Rock Hostel Salvador is located on the beach front in the bohemian Rio Vermelho district of Salvador. There are direct bus connections to the airport(40min), main bus station(20min) and Pelourinho(20min). Our hostel is definately one of the best locations in town. It is situated nearby the main attractions of Salvador, with cheap restaurants and supermarkets nearby in the traditional alley of Vila Matos. To get to the main carnaval circuit Barra/Ondina it's only a 10min walk by foot. rn
