The house is run by experienced and helpful staff who are always on hand to answer any queries about the local area and book tours. All rooms are recently furnished and decorated and overlook a flower and hammock filled courtyard which really is the heart of the house. Cleaned twice daily, the large and well equipped kitchen is made available for communal use. There is also a TV room for relaxing. The owners have good relations with many Spanish schools in the vicinity and are able to assist you with organizing a course whilst providing the accommodation for the duration of your stay. Situated in El Centro district of San Cristobal de las Casas you can find all major attractions within walking distance. Posada Leon de Jovel is situated in the central colonial district of San Cristobal de Las Casas. You can find precise directions below for arrivals by bus, car or plane.
Arriving by bus:
Upon leaving the bus station (ADO/Cristobal Colon) turn right up Insurgentes and walk 5 blocks. Turn right onto Francisco Leon and walk another 3 blocks where you will find us situated at number 35 on the right hand side. A taxi should cost around $25 pesos.
Arriving by car:
If arriving by car, take the main road into San Cristobal and follow signs for el centro. On street car parking is available in the vicinity but cars are parked at your own risk.
Arriving by plane:
The nearest airport to San Cristobal de Las Casas is Tuxtla Guttierez (approximately 45 minutes) . From here we can arrange a private taxi pick up or you can take a collectivo which should drop you in the central zocalo of San Cristobal de Las Casas.
Located Near
Situated just two blocks south of the central zocalo and famous Real de Guadalupe, you should find everything is in easy walking distance from Leon de Jovel. Nearby are the churches of Guadalupe and San Francisco, Arco del Carmen and Mercado de Artesanias y Dulces.
