The Adelaide has an excellent downtown location, only one block to Union Square(The center of San Francisco in the Theatre district and in the middle of San Francisco's main shopping and theatre districts. We are close to all major tourist attractions like Alcatraz prison, Union Square, the famous San Francisco Cable Cars, ChinaTown, Fishermans Wharf, Castro Street and of course the famous Haight Ashbury district. All of these attractions are only a short walk or bus ride from the Adelaide Hostel. If you are coming to San Francisco for a conference we are only a one minute walk to the Hilton convention center and we are a five minute walk to the Moscone Convention Center. Our international staff will help you with directions when you arrive. The Adelaide building is modeled after the European style pensionne hotels which are popular in many European cities,with a guest lobby where you can read or just relax and meet new friends. We're at 5 Isadora Duncan lane, a small street located between Geary Street and Post Street, just off Taylor Street. We're on the left-hand side of Taylor Street.
On some old maps our street is called Adelaide Street or Adelaide Place. It was renamed Isadora Duncan Lane in honour of the famous actress Isadora Duncan who was born in and lived in the Adelaide Hotel before she became the American queen of song and dance.

From the Golden Gate Bridge:
Take the Downtown US-101 exit. Turn right onto Van Ness St. Turn left onto O�Farrell St. Turn left onto Taylor St, then turn left again onto Isadora Duncan Lane.
From San Francisco Airport:
Take US-101 N. Take the exit for Duboce Ave/Mission St and keep right at the fork in the ramp. Turn right onto Mission St/US-101 N. Then take a slight left onto S Van Ness Ave/US-101. Turn right onto O�Farrell St, then turn left onto Isadora Duncan Lane.
From Oakland Bay Bridge:
Take the I-80 W onto the bridge. Merge onto I-80 W. Take the exit for Harrison St. Turn left onto Harrison St. Turn right onto 3rd St � 3rd St becomes Kearny St. Then turn left onto Geary St. Take a right onto Taylor St and stay in the left-hand lane. Welcome!
From the BART:
The nearest BART station is Powell St Station. From here, go north on Powell St. Turn left onto Geary St, then right onto Taylor St, then turn left onto Isadora Duncan Lane. Easy!
From the Greyhound Terminal:
From the terminal, go north on Fremont St. Turn left onto Pine St, then left onto Mason St. Turn right onto Geary St. Turn right again onto Taylor St, then take a left onto Isadora Duncan Lane.
Located Near
The Adelaide Hostel is located near all of the places most visitors to San Francisco want to see and visit. The Adelaide Hostel and Hotel is in the center of San Francisco is a perfect base for exploring all of the cities attractions. We are located next to Union Square in the threater district a three minute walk to the subway (called BART) and in an ideal location to see all of the things San Francisco has to offer. Here are some of the places and things you can do when you stay at the the Adelaide Hostel. Alcatraz Prison and Fishermans Wharf are only a short walk or cable car ride away. The famous San Francisco cable cars are just around the corner. The Golden Gate Bridge is a short bus ride from the Adelaide Hostel and Hotel. Chinatown is only a few minutes walk from the Adelaide. The famous Haight Ashbury district (from the 1967's summer of love) is a short walk away. The Hilton convention center is around the corner, a thirty second walk. The San Fancisco Convention Center(Moscone Center) is less than a five minute walk from the Adelaide)
