About Green Tortoise Backpackers
The Green Tortoise Hostel is a popular party hostel located in San Francisco's historic North Beach, just a short walk from Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf.
We have a range of private rooms and cosy dormitories equipped with large lockers and linen. Facilities include a kitchen, a common room, cable television, internet access, luggage storage, a tours desk and even a sauna.
We host live music and organise activities such as pub crawls, tours and movie nights. Breakfast is included in the rates and we offer free dinners three times a week.
We do not have a curfew.

- A refundable key deposit is required at check-out (payable by cash or travelers cheque only).
- Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours in advance.

This hostel is sort of in the red light district, I didn't feel safe to walk around by myself at night although the staff said if I wasnt trying to steal crack I would be fine. I had an amazing friday night! Free awesome dinner, staff is super friendly, and the best pub crawl experience! this hostel's got the hookups for cheap drinks and free cover to a nice nightclub.
