La Moraia (the blackberries place) is a characteristic farmhouse complex, situated in the heart of Chianti countryside near the village of Talciona, halfway between Siena and Florence and only 15 km away from the famous towers of San Gimignano. The property is located upon a beautiful hill within a huge natural resort (restocking game reserve for pheasants,hares and wild boars). The family-run farmhouse have always been producing extra virgin olive oil and Chianti wine from the 23 ha. surrounding the property. Since 13 years have also been breeding trotter horses, besides La Moraia offers also the opportunity for our guests to put their horses to board.In 1994 the farmhouses have been completely refurbished and now offer twelve (2-roomed,3-roomed and 4-roomed) apartments. Last renovation was in 2012.The apartments have been decorated and furnished in the traditional Tuscan style,but at the same time offer all modern facilities such as central heating, microwave, fireplace, TV, dishwasher, fridge, American coffee machine, etc. Pleasant is the contrast between the modern kitchen units and the old style furniture in the other rooms (wooden beam roofs and terracotta tile floors). Most of the apartments are provided with fireplace.At complete disposal of the guests there are also token washing machines and dryers,free covered parking place and outdoor BBQs.The ground offers tranquility and an extensive view across the beautiful Chianti hills and further boasts a 7x14 meters swimming pool(with a striking panorama view) for the exclusive use of La Moraia's guests. The outdoor pool is open from 15.04 to 07.11 ca. PETS NOT ALLOWED Please note we have 15 days of cancellation policy failing to cancel your reservation on time or for no show your credit card will be charged of the full amount of your stay Please note that after you have made a booking the hostel will do a pre-authorization on your bank card ( full amount has to be on the card). This is not a charge, but checking the validity of your card to guarantee your booking. The pre-authorization will be removed from your card within a few days ( according to cancellation deadline). Balance has to be paid upon arrival in cash Check in 2pm-6pm. Check out 10am. Mandatory extras on spot: Gas according to consumption Euro 5,30/cubic meter Obligatory final cleanings & linen forniture (Euro 15/person/stay) Available services on spot ( extra charge): Washing machines ( Euro 4,00) and dryer ( Euro 3,00). Coming from MILANO/BOLOGNA:
From the autostrada A1 take the exit FIRENZE-IMPRUNETA and continue towards SIENA on the Superstrada. Take the second POGGIBONSI exit , first round circle left, second round circle left again,and follow the signs for 'BERNINO' ( sport facilities) and 'TALCIONA' until you leave Poggibonsi.Then ignore those signs.Stay on this road and even when it forks sharply to the right, proceed straight ahead to the hamlet of Talciona (La Moraia is beyond this hamlet).You will then see the sign for the 'Az. Agr. LA MORAIA', follow these signs (Continue on the gravel road 1 km, first fork stay right, second fork stay left) and you will arrive at the property.
Coming from South ( Roma)
Take the Autostrada A1 direction North and exit in BETOLLE.Proceed direction Siena.Take then the Superstrada direction Florence and exit in Poggibonsi.After the flyover turn left.At the first round circle turn right, secon round circle left again following the signs for 'BERNINO' ( sport facilities) and 'TALCIONA' until you leave Poggibonsi.Then ignore those signs.Stay on this road and even when it foarks sharply to the right, proceed straight ahead to the hamlet of Talciona ( La Moraia is beyond this hamlet).You will then see the sign for the 'Az.
