Remember when you were young, when sleeping out in a treehouse or building a fort with blankets was so cool?

At Base Camp, we capture those moments and share it. We are a camp in the middle of the city. Our rooms are tents and our rooftop is a playground. We have a guitar for a TV and a picnic table indoors.

This is a place for pioneers to find themselves among others who are equally open for something different.

You can enjoy our huge space and even larger spirit.

--------------

After years of nomadic life, we decided to set up a camp and return the hearty welcome and wisdom the world town has given us.

For location we wanted a place where we would be in walking distance from a major nightlife area. We know we don't like to walk too far to get home at the end of the day.

We found ourselves an old abandoned dancehall in the middle of Seoul at Hongdae area, which is the largest party district in Seoul. We also made sure we were within one minute from the subway exit. Perhaps the best part is that we are a minute away from the Han river, which is like Hudson of New York or Thames of London. Our guests can always rent a bike and ride along the river enjoying the river breeze.

We would rather be in a large space without worrying about our feet hitting the end of the bed so we built our own sleeping capsules with bigger room than usual bunk bed. For bonus we installed power outlet and a light source that you can control in each cell. The room is always air conditioned so it wouldn't get stuffy in the summer.

We especially love to chill out at the end of the day with other travelers and exchange info so we gave plenty of space to do just that. We built a huge sofa out of cargo pallet and At late night it's awesome to have a place where people can still party without waking others so we cleaned up the rooftop and added tables and a hot tub.

However, what we love the most above all that, above creating a great space, is to share something great. Come and stay with us!

-----------------

Base Camp has four tents. These tents are made with the strongest cotton canvas we could find in Korea. They are sound proof, well insulated and plain fun to touch. Below these cozy fabric you will find either bunk beds or capsule beds. Please bring your own tent.

Bunk bed rooms are standard dormitory you would find in any well-kept hostel. There are either 4 or 6 beds with 8 to 12 travelers in each spacious room. There are round space in the middle of the tent so it's perfect for spontaneous drum circles.

If you would like extra privacy and comfort, you may choose to try our capsule bed. Like a honey comb, you have your own cell where you climb into and then you have the most comfortable spot in the world. We provide each cell with an electric outlet and a work light for those times you would rather read a book or work on your laptop into the night. The best part is that we can remove the dividers between each cell so you can share a larger space with your friends. What not to love?

We are currently in our rehearsal period. Please enjoy the lower rate and give us feedback so we may fine tune it for our launch on July 1st.

Please be aware that until the launch, certain facilities like the rooftop bar, or the hot tub maybe going through construction.

There is no smoking in the building. You may smoke on the rooftop, one floor up.

Reception is open from 7AM to 2AM. Please let us know in advance if you will arrive at any other time.
