About Rosses Point Guesthouse
Address: Rosses Point, Co. Sligo, Sligo, Ireland
The Rosses Point Guesthouse is a newly opened accommodation option in the seaside town of Rosses Point, just 5 miles from Sligo town. We provide a good value, fun alternative to the existing hotels and B&B's in the area. We have a selection of different bed options, from a hostel style bunk bed in a dorm to a family room or private double rooms for a romantic get-away. The kitchen and common areas of the guesthouse are our greatest asset - with plenty of space for groups to cook, eat, chat and play music.
Rosses Point has a lot to offer visitors with great beaches, golf, sailing and fishing to discover. There are also a few islands off the coast that are great to explore, and there is fantastic food and drink available in Austies across the road from the house.
Around Sligo there are some great hikes and bike tours, and we have OS maps available in the house to plan your excursions. Sligo is also a top surf location, and the staff in the guesthouse can recommend the best breaks for your ability. In Sligo town itself there are more great spots to discover; art galleries, great shopping and spots to socialise, no matter what you are into.
Rosses Point Guesthouse is in the northwest of Ireland, near the town of Sligo. Sligo is the largest town in the northwest and it is about 2.5hrs by car or 3hrs by train from Dublin. It is about 2hrs from Galway and about 3hrs from Belfast.
Rosses Point is situated 8kms outside Sligo town. It's a small seaside village with a lot to offer. Getting from Sligo to Rosses is easy.
By Car: Drive through Sligo on the dual carriageway. Pick up the signs for Rosses Point and follow them. When you get into Rosses Point, there are two roads running parallel through the village. Take the road on the right, and follow it until you come to Hackett's bar - an old derilict pub and guesthouse. Don't worry, that's not where you are staying! You can park outside Hacketts and walk up the road to Austies Bar. Rosses Point Guesthouse is directly across from Austies bar, the yellow building with the square black flowerpots outside. We use the gate entrance at the side as our main entrance. If it's not open, knock a few times or give us a call!
By Bus: The bus for Rosses Point leaves the Sligo bus and train station. You can also get on across the road from the Ulster Bank in Sligo town. Ask Frank the bus driver to drop you off at Austies bar, and walk across the road to Rosses Point Guesthouse.
By Boat: This is our favourite way to get to Rosses Point Guesthouse. You can contact the MV Spirit, a charter boat that is based in Sligo. They will bring you on the short trip from Sligo harbour out to Rosses Point Pier. You can even take in a bit of fishing or sight seeing on the way. We can then meet you at the pier and help you with your bags across the road to the Rosses Point Guesthouse. If your lucky on the fishing trip, the Chef's in Austies can cook up your catch for your dinner that night! The return trip can be done on the Sea Star with Daryl from Sligo Boat Charters.
We currently do not have credit card facilities at our guesthouse. There is no cash ATM machine in Rosses Point. The nearest ATM is in Sligo town. We provide a continental breakfast of cereal, toast, tea and coffee which is included in the rates per night. Should you arrive at a different time than stated on your booking, the door may be locked and no staff present. In this case please follow the instructions given on the window of Guesthouse.
