Backpackers Fairytale is a new hostel in downtown Split. It's a very clean and colorful place with a big retro common room where you can chill listening to old records on a gramophone while enjoying the beautiful view of the sea, the bell tower of St Duje and our amazing hill Marjan.
Our rooms are very spacious, and in our kitchen you can prepare delicious food or buy homemade muffins and home brewed beer. If you are too lazy or hungover to go to the beach you can always sunbathe on our huge terrace (75 m2). In addition to the terrace, the hostel has two big balconies facing south so you can enjoy sun from dawn to dusk. We are located 10 min from the ferry, bus and train station. |

From ferry/bus/train:
Walk towards Diocletian's Palace and the promenade.
When you reach the corner of the palace (at the very beginning of the promenade) turn right (Hrvojeva Street) - you will see lots of souvenir stalls on the street. Go straigt to the end of the street and on the left side you will see a park called Dardin Make sure the park is to your left and big walls to the right. Keep going straight, with the park on your left and a massive wall on your right. Continuing straight, crossing the street after the park and walk past some more souvenir stalls for about 20m. Now you will see a long parking area. At this point, it can get a little confusing. The right side of the parking area is our street, Istarska (but the left side is a different street). Keep right along the parking area and you will begin to see street numbers. We are No. 3, but the street numbers don't go as you expect. First you'll see 2, 4, 6 and 8, THEN you'll cross a street (also known as Istarska Street, but don't turn down it) and come to No. 3, few meters from building is caffe bar called Kornjača.
If you have problems finding us, you can always ask someone for directions, especially young people as they almost surely speak English.
From the airport take the shuttle bus, it will drop you off at the end of the promenade or at the main bus station, from there just follow the above directions.
Located Near
We are located in downtown near the big market called Pazar and just 3 min from UNESCO protected Diocletian's Palace, one of the best-kept examples of Roman architecture in the world. You need only 10 min walk to the closest beach. Also the important thing is that we are situated near the bar and restaurant area, but it s still suprisingly quiet place for sleep.
