It\'s not that convenient - they made a huge deal about the £10 key deposit, I even had to go to the cash point to take out more money to pay it before I could check in, and the girl on reception was extremely condescending about this. The reception\'s hardly ever open, so it\'s hard for you to get your £10 deposit BACK if you\'re planning on leaving early, and the kitchen is locked at night (with your food in.) But it\'s still the cheapest place to stay in St Andrews.

I would like to point out that reception is open for 11 hours of the day which I think is plenty of time to organise getting your keys and deposit back. The £10 key deposit is something we ask ALL guests as sometimes people do loose there keys and we have to have money to pay for them. The cash machine is just a 10 seconds walk so I feel this is not a problem for people to do and you are the first to complain about this. The receptionist was just doing her job by following company procedures. The kitchen is closed after 10pm for fire regulations which is important for all guests, however if you want to remove your food before this time you can and it can be kept in your room if needed.

Wasn't a big fan.It was pretty average, but not set up as well as some.The staff were not very efficient.One guy from our room had been moved out of his room the night before (he came back for the evening to find a note on his door.) Then the staff mixed things up the next night by giving his 'new' bunk away.Just not organized at all.Over all ok apart from that.Run down a bit, one of the three showers not working, drawers in kitchen broken, etc.

It's not normal that we have to move people after they've checked in. However, we had to re-arrange a couple of people at the weekend as we had a large group booking due to arrive, and had to allocate the whole party to 3 dorms. The damaged shower head in question is being replaced presently.
