We are a small, intimate hostel known for our great atmosphere, around the corner from Sydney's best nightlife! **We are a youth hostel and only accept travellers aged 18-35 years old.** Avoid those massive, impersonal hotel-style hostels and stay with us in a small hostel offering personal service, where you can easily meet other travellers, especially if you're travelling solo. It's ideal for female solo travellers since it's safe, secure and clean. Our guests frequently tell us they don't want to leave because of our 'friendly and homely atmosphere...almost like you're staying at a friend's house'. The Blue Parrot is a family owned and run hostel; sisters Effie and Sasha and our award-winning team create a fun vibe - we have won several awards for having the best atmosphere in Australia! We offer free Internet and Wi-Fi, which is a big bonus since most hostels charge for it. Our facilities include free use of the Wii Game Station, our free DVD hard drive (so you can upload movies to your laptop) and a free big-screen plasma TV with cable and DVDs. There's also free use of personal security lockers in each room, plus an awesome big courtyard - great for socialising. Reception hours 09:00 - 20:30 A valid passport is required on check-in.
We do not have a traditional 24-hour front desk, so guests should notify us their arrival time especially if arriving after 20:30 so we can arrange check in. Last check-in is 23:00 hours.
HOSTEL'S CONDITIONS:
Full payment is due upon check-in. We can’t provide a refund if you decide to check out early.
We accept credit cards, Visa or MasterCard for payments of $300 or more. If your balance is less than $300 you’ll have to pay in cash. Credit cards incur a 2.5% surcharge. We accept groups max 6 people. No stag/Hen/Bachelor Party.

HOSTEL'S CANCELLATION POLICY: Customers (1-3 persons) can cancel or change their reservation free of charge up to 2 days before arrival (local time). Groups (4 or more persons) need 7 days notice to cancel or change. If you do not give us the required notice or there is a No-Show you will be charged for all nights booked. Cancellations/changes must be made by e-mail only.

From Sydney International Airport:
Go to the ''Meeting Point'' which is in the middle of the arrival hall next to the car rentals, and opposite the ANZ money exchange to meet the 'Sydney Shuttle Bus' crew, it departs frequently or ring them on 9661 1170 to pick you up. Just tell the driver to drop you off at the Blue Parrot Backpackers. Fare is $12 and the journey will take between 40 and 50 minutes depending on traffic.
Take a taxi if you arrive after 9pm when the shuttle bus stops running. Taxi cost $30 - $40 depending on traffic. The journey by taxi takes between 30 and 40 minutes depending on traffic.
From Domestic Airport:
You will find the 'Sydney Shuttle Bus' crew at number 5 baggage causeway inside the arrival hall.
From Sydney Central Train Station:
Catch the train from platform 24 to Kings Cross station. Take the Darlinghurst Road exit; turn left and go pass the water fountain into Macleay street until you come to the hostel about 5 minutes walk, you will see the blue building on your left. We are at number 87.
Located Near
Perfectly situated on Macleay Street, Potts Point, the stylish part of inner Sydney. 15 minutes walk to the City Centre and Opera House or catch the train to the CBD (one stop) and Bondi (two stops). Sydney has brilliant nightlife and most of it is within walking distance from our hostel. We are 30 metres from Woolworth's supermarket, opens seven days until 12 midnight. There are three banks within 50 metres with ATM's and the Post Office is 50 metres away.
