Very clean and homey hostel; the woman who runs it is very friendly and full of information. Only a couple of blocks from a night market and from the subway station, so very convenient.

The Chocolate staff were very helpful in helping me with my traveling questions and getting me into the hostel despite my late arrival. The hostel is cozy and very conveniently located. I plan on returning for another stay if I make my way to Taipei anytime soon.

Do not misunderstand the average rating for character - this is an excellent hostel and the staff are extremely helpful. They even helped me to find an apartment in Taipei. However, I strongly recommend that you avoid paying in advance for bookings if you can, as they will not refund any cancelled nights.
