WaGaLiGong is a small family run business located in the cultural village of Dulan on Taiwan's scenic east coast. Dulan has a bohemian mix of aboriginal Taiwanese, foreigners, Han Chinese, artists, musicians and surfers and is arguably one of the best places in Taiwan to spend some time. Our hostel is run by passionate people who are willing to share their experiences and way of life with travelers.
We can comfortably accommodate over 20 guests. We offer three private rooms, two rooms with backpacker-style accommodation and one Japanese-style shared room for groups. Prices range from NT$300 a head to NT$1400 for a room.
We are within walking distance from the bus stop, 7-11, Sugar Factory and Dulan beach.
We have a restaurant/bar on the first floor with a warm atmosphere, food and drinks, delicious pizza and ice cold beer on tap.
We have an inhouse surf/outdoor center with surfboard/SUP/windsurf/kayak rentals and equipment for sale and professional coaching/tours on request.
We offer a river tracing tour where you can explore wild rivers and hotsprings!
Our shop also sells a variety of art, clothes,flip flops and boardshorts / bikinis.
We have scooters for rent, which you can use to explore the village and all the local spots.(our scooters are with surf racks)
At WaGaLiGong, you can enjoy your food while watching surf movies on the big screen. You can practice yoga, meditation or simply get in some sun bathing to your favorite music within view of the Pacific and Green Island on our rooftop garden area. You can relax in our lounge, watch movies or read books from our library exchange. At WaGaLiGong bikes, WIFI, coffee, tea, bread, jam and kitchen are free for all guests. We have a laundry machine and a rooftop hangout area to chat with fellow travelers or simply relax.
We are also looking for artists to help in exchange for lodging, board and surfing.

From Taitung Airport/Railway Station: Upon exiting either the airport or station you have several options:
1)Bus: catch either of these buses: 8101, 8102, 8103, 8109, 8119, 8120 or the Taiwan Tour Bus (East Coast Line) to Dulan and get off at Dulan Stop 1. You are literally on our doorstep. We're number 89.
2)Wagaligong offers a pick up/drop off service, with rates as follows: NT$500 to/from Fugang Ferry Port, NT$600 to/from Taitung Railway Station, and NT$700 to/from Taitung Airport.
3)Taxi: ask the driver to take you to Dulan, number 89. Day rates are about NT$600~700, night rates NT$700~800.
4)Rent a scooter from outside the station. Make sure you have your international driving license. Follow the highway 11 north for 20 minutes till you get to Dulan. We're on the right hand side, number 89. Rates: NT$400/day.
If driving from the north, for example from Taoyuen Airport, Taipei, Yilan, etc, just follow the Highway 11 south, past Hualien, and Donghe. From Donghe we're only 20 minutes away. On entering Dulan pass the 7/11 and we're on the left hand side, number 89.
