Hostel Anton is above all a place to have fun, meet interesting people, rest and relax. It is also an ideal base for exploration of Montenegro and its neighboring countries. I`s also the oldest hostel in Montenegro. Our main goal is to attract young (at heart), creative, open-minded people whose stay at the Hostel would make a difference in their and our lives. The unique atmosphere of the Adriatic coast, and our position on it attracts musicians, painters, writers, traveling theater groups, jewelry makers and all kinds of unique people. This atmosphere is partly provided by the geographic position of our house, which has a huge, breathtaking sea view and a green garden. Our rustic garden, roof top terrace, music instruments, full bar and affordable home cooking help to create this small, hidden paradise (at least we think so). Also, we prefer to make things on our own and we collect antique stuff. The Hostel was also built from the bricks of the hundred-year-old house that belonged to my grandfather Anton (yes, therefore the name). If you appreciate a unique, creative atmosphere and people, you will enjoy our Hostel, for sure. You will have an opportunity to hear a variety of bands and solo musicians play at the Hostel, see people painting or making jewelry. This is a living place! You can always get plenty of rest, of course, and silence too, when needed.
The staff is artistic, helpful, friendly, open-minded, and efficient. Artists and musicians get 10% off (better learn to play guitar or something ;-). We are a proud member of Balkans Best Hostels Association, which gives you 10 % off your stay at any of the Hostels from the Association.
Our prices are 10 - 12 euros per person in dorm bed, 13.50 - 15.00 per person in private rooms. These prices include free breakfast, free internet/wi-fi use, safety lockers, big screen/projector movie nights, free parking, free towels, hairdryer/iron, and other services

Directions from the Tivat bus station or Tivat Airport:
1: TAXI: The easiest way is to take a taxi, which costs 2 to 3 euros
from the bus station or 3 to 4 euros from the airport, to get to our
place. With your luggage and the trip you have done it is probably the
best solution to get a cab. We recommend using the company called the
Red Taxi: 19729 or Djir taxi: 19777. They are usually parked at the
station/airport, or if you don`t see any just dial this number the way
it is, no need for area codes. Ask the driver for the bill/receipt
-'ratchun'. If you get the receipt we will be able to resolve any
issues that might occur (regarding the price etc).
This ride should take no more than 5 minutes.
2: WALKING :You can follow the main street (Adriatic Highway/Jadranska
Magistrala) in the direction of the city center, (around 1,5 km) until
you see the footbridge. Just after the footbridge and before the gas
station (Eko) take the road on the right that runs paralel with the
main road (goes above the gas station).
After 100 m take the first right (there is a little caf on the right
corner called Kafe Lina, and on the left corner you will see a
sign for Hostel Anton). Walk uphill for 150 m. Once you get to a left
turn with a sign for 'Fortress' and for Hostel Anton, take that turn
to the bottom of the hill and then take the right curve to the end of
this street. You will see a light pink house with a flat
roof and a sign for Hostel Anton! And you`re here ! ;-)
This takes around 20 minutes.
Hostel Anton is 3 km from the Tivat airport and 1,5 km from the bus
station. It`s 7km from the Old town Kotor, and thereare regular local
buses going from and to Kotor every half an hour. We are 20 km from
Budva, or half an hour ride with the local bus.
By car/bus: Kotor (15 min), Budva (30 min), Herceg Novi (1h), Dubrovnik (2h), Podgorica ( 1h 30 min), Cetinje (1h), Mostar (4-5 h), Sarajevo (5-6h) etc.
The small towns of Boka Kotorska Bay, as treasuries of history; art and beauty, are strung like pearls on its coastline. Kotor is the old coastal and cultural center. For centuries, it has been a crossroads of commercial roads under the strong influence of Venice. It is protected by mountains with a strong defensive structure, built during the time of Byzantine Empire.
Perast is a small town in which numerous palaces of former sailors and ship owners are still preserved. Perast is the homeland of many world-known sailors and a town whose destiny has been always relate to the sea. By its lifestyle, it resembled Venice with which it had very lively trade relations and cultural ties. There are many remains of the old aristocratic palaces that bear witness now to its ancient splendor and richness. In one of them, the Bujevics palace, is located the Town Museum. There is a tale very interesting historically saying that the Russian soldiers used to come in Perast to learn sailing skills and that it was know as a cradle of the Russian fleet.
There are two islands around Perast, Gospa od Skrpjela (Lady of Skrpljel) and St Gorge, both unique tourist attractions.
Risan is famous for the remnants of the classical culture. The remains of a Roman patricians villa with floors in mosaics as beautiful as those made during Roman period.
Herceg Novi is a town situated at the end of the bay. Its appearance is an illustration of its turbulent history. The town is a fine combination of Romantic, Byzantine and Oriental styles interweaved in the Mediterranean appearance of this town. Today, Herceg Novi is the town of flowers with all its windows faced toward the sun and the sea. It is one of the warmest towns on the Adriatic coast. One should visit the City Museum and the Archives, the Modern Arts Gallery, and the Old town with the Tower clock.
