Not a bad place - excellent value at 3000 yen a night (although if you can get into a ryokan in asakusa for that price, it is probably a better bet). A little run down and not the cleanest, but really close to Ueno station which can take you anywhere in tokyo in no time on the subway - and some decent, cheap eateries nearby. Biggest drawback is the only showers are in the shared bathing area, so modesty (or personal hygiene) must be sacrificed... Toby, from Australia ~ 23rd Nov 2009
