How to get here:From International Airport in Santiago: You should take the Centropuerto transfer to metro station Pajaritos, line 1. On the same place the bus drops you catch a bus that says Valparaiso, there is plenty of companies going every 15 minutes, and get of in 'Terminal'. The trip is an hour and a half long, passing through the wine valleys towards the ocean. The Valparaiso terminal is just opposite from the national congress building on Pedro Montt Av. In the same avenue take any bus that reaches Bellavista street, once in there, cross the street toward Ecuador street (three blocks), there are 3 options to get to the hostel; first, take your left hand and walk straight and up the stairs, about 4 blocks, the walk takes around 5 minutes. Another choise, in Ecuador Square ride a taxi to the hostel ($1200 CLP) or a 'colectivo' number 39 to Beltrán street and then walk 1 block down Hector Calvo on 371 you will see Hostal Caracol.Ascensor Espiritú Santo is closed until further notice, so please take this into consideration.Inside Valparaíso: Colectivo: They leave from 'subida Ecuador', a well known street, colectivo number 39 which says Beltran is the one, tell the driver to drop you at the Carmelitas church on Hector Calvo, walk two blocks down hill until 371 and on your right hand side you will see the yellow walls of Hostal Caracol.Ascensor Espiritú Santo is closed until further notice, so please take this into consideration.By bus: In the corner of Francia Av and Colon Av take a bus O, which goes uphill through Baquedano street towards La Sebastiana (Neruda´s house). Get off on Ferrari street and walk downhill right in front of the poets house.
