At Quinta dos Três Rios we, the Forestier-Walker family, offer you a magnificent rural location where peace and tranquility reign. Our home is situated outside the village of Parada de Gonta, between Viseu and Tondela, in the heart of central Portugal's Dão wine region. Six spacious and characterful guest suites provide privacy and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere for our visitors. More than a bed and breakfast, we welcome guests to share our home and take meals with the family. Quinta dos Três Rios organises parties in this wonderful setting with breathtaking views over the Rio Pavia. We also organise a three-day wine tasting tour of the Dão and Douro regions. Quinta dos Três Rios dates back to the XIX century and the house has been totally restored by the Forestier-Walker family. The family made every effort to maintain the original characteristics of the ancient farmhouse and every original piece has, where possible, been restored: the pine floor, the gates, the pine shutters and even the door-handles. All guest accommodations have magnificent views over the Rio Pavia and its wonderful waterfalls, over the vineyard and the whole property. The vineyard was replanted by the Forestier-Walker family and covers an area of 1.9 hectares. We now produce over 3000 litres of classic Dão red wine. All the guest suites have comfortable bedrooms, a sitting-room and bathroom. For your comfort and convenience, there is a fridge, and tea & coffee making facilities. This is rural Portugal. Parada de Gonta sits between the Caramulo mountains and the Serra da Estrela mountain range. Within a 15-minute drive the enthralling old town of historic Viseu where museums, wineries and locally produced crafts are found.
The markets in Tondela (Monday), Viseu (Tuesday) and in many of the surrounding small villages are always colourful and full of bargains.
The university city of Coimbra with outstanding architecture and internationally renowned shops is only 45 minutes away. A stop off at Fatima on the way to Lisbon is a great day out and certainly recommended.

We are about 1 hour 20 mins from Porto airport. Take the A1 SOUTH towards Lisbon for about 40 mins and at the Aveiro junct take A 25 due EAST sign posted to VISEU. After about 20 mins turn off at Junct.17 follow the signs for COIMBRA and join the (IP3) A further 10 mins you join 2 lane road 3 km on you will see the sign P.de Gonta. Go right THROUGH the village we are the last house on the right.
