If you love the outdoors and countryside The Skylark's Rest is the place to come. We are in the heart of the Wicklow Hills in the Roundwood/Glendalough area with many activities on our door step, including hill-walking, mountain biking, horse-riding, golf, angling and many more. We provide clean, comfortable accommodation in a relaxed atmosphere. The Skylark's Rest is a small hostel and we've minimised the use of bunk beds (there are only 2) to make your stay more comfortable. Fill up with our complimentary breakfast in the morning before you explore all this fabulous area has to offer. We've plenty of ideas and information available to help you plan your days. You'll find home grown herbs in the kitchen for your cooking and you can catch up on the rest of the world over tea/coffee and chocolate biscuits using our free WiFi. Relax in the cosy lounge in the evening or stroll down to the village to check out the local craic. There's music in the village every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We have a gear drying room and secure storage for bikes and other equipment (we also have two bikes for hire). Free hairdryers are available for guests to borrow. We are perfectly located for a comfy overnight rest if you're walking the very popular Wicklow Way, especially the Knockree - Roundwood or the Roundwood - Glendalough sections. We're just 2km from the Wicklow Way as it passes by Roundwood. Please note: Check-in from 15:00-21:00 Check-out by 10.30am Cancellation policy is 2 days in advance We accept payment by cash. We have a no shoes policy in the hostel. Please pack something comfortable to wear on your feet inside. Guests 16 years and under must be accompanied by an adult. |

This property has specific Terms & Conditions.This is a small countryside hostel and its not possible for us to provide open access to the hostel before check-in. Check-in from 3.00pm. Last check-in at 9.00pm. Once you check-in you will be able to come and go as you need during your stay.
We have a no shoes policy in the hostel. Please pack something comfortable to wear on your feet inside.
Guests 16 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

N53 03.918 W 6 13.741 (When coming from Dublin to Roundwood, sometimes GPS will direct you over the Sally Gap, which is a remote mountain road. The more direct route to Roundwood is via the M50 motorway.)
On public transport
The St Kevins Bus operates a twice daily service to and from Dublin city centre (bus leaves the city centre opposite the Mansion House on Dawson Street). Details of the timetable and fares available at www.glendaloughbus.com When you arrive in Roundwood take the L1059 (signposted Lough Dan), which is beside the Roundwood Inn. We are 400 metres up this road on the right.
From Dublin Airport (approximately 1 hour journey)
-From the airport follow the signs for Dublin and M1. Join the M1 motorway southbound (signposted Dublin). Leave the M1 at junction 1 and follow the signs at the roundabout for the M50 southbound.
-Remain on the M50 southbound, which will continue onto the M11 motorway (signposted Wexford) and this in turn will continue onto the N11 (signposted Wexford). This section of the journey is approximately 45km.
-Leave the N11 at the exit signposted Roundwood/Glendalough and follow the signs for Roundwood/Glendalough on the R755.
-On arriving in Roundwood village, turn right immediately after the black and white painted Roundwood Inn (L1059, signposted Lough Dan). The Skylark's Rest is 400 metres up this road on the right.
From Dublin city centre (approximately 1 hour journey)
-Follow the signs from the city centre for the M50.
-Join the M50 heading southbound.
-Remain on the M50 southbound, which will continue onto the - motorway (signposted Wexford) and this in turn will continue onto the N11 (signposted Wexford). This section of the journey is approximately 30km.
-Leave the N11 at the exit signposted Roundwood/Glendalough and follow the signs for Roundwood/Glendalough on the R755.
-On arriving in Roundwood village, turn right immediately after the black and white painted Roundwood Inn (L1059, signposted Lough Dan). The Skylark's Rest is 400 metres up this road on the right.
