There is construction going on all around the hostel so it is very messy walking down the street. It was raining today and walking through wet cement/mud not nice when you have a lot of luggage. Great place-with character, in an old Hutong.Great location - 5 mins from Metro, tho the lane leading to it is very narrow and dark, could be off putting for a single female traveller, but we always felt really safe.Staff were really helpful.Bar and communal area gave it a good atmosphere, tho it generally seemed pretty quiet.Room was fairly spacious, comfortable and clean-more 3* hotel standard than hostel We had a great stay here :) Catherine, from England ~ 9th Sep 2009

The hostel seems to have a major issue with their booking system. My room was given away when I arrived and I ended up on the floor. They did all they could do to make the situation better. Many others had similar problems. The staff at the hostel are great and the bar and T.V room are very social and good fun. The hostel is very near the subway but the road to the hostel is all ripped up but hopefully the work will be done soon. Nicola, from Canada ~ 23rd Aug 2009

My worst experience in 8 years of travelling! They had given our room away, even though I had confirmed through email 3 days in advance and they confirmed back saying ok! Then we were followed to another place, were we could sleep! A really bad hotel with no english speaking staff! We met 1 other couple and 1 single male who also had their reservation overbooked! So if you want to be sure of having a place to stay! DONT GO HERE!!! unprofessional staff and a rather small hostel! Jess, from Denmark ~ 7th Aug 2009
