Backpackers Miyajima in Hiroshima, Japan

Location is no where near Hiroshima, but it is great if you are going to Miyajima. You cannot gett much closer to the ferry. Elizabeth, from USA ~ 5th Aug 2009

Firstly, dont make the mistake of thinking that this is on Miyajima. Its not- and lots of people think that it is when they book it, including us. As far as locations go, you couldnt get closer to Miyajima than this without payingt a lot to stay on the island. But we were very disappointed with this place. We had just stayed in J Hoppers in Hiroshima city the night before and if we\'d known this hostel wasnt on the island we would never have stayed there. Great hostel and perfect location for exploring Miyajima. Very comfortable and cozy; even when there was a party in the common room, you couldn\'t hear a thing from the 2nd or 3rd floor. The only bad thing is that you had to pay for showers - 100 yen for 5 minutes. And since reception is closed from 11 - 8 am, if you don\'t get your shower coin during the desk hours, you can\'t really take a shower if you have to leave early. Candice, from USA ~ 4th May 2009

For the good points : the location is really great (just close to the ferry leading to Myajima Island). Staff do speak reasonnably well english. For the bad points. There is a curfew. My room was supposed to be a 4-female dormitory, but in fact the whole floor is separed just by boards and there were curtains instead of doors. Not good for the phonic and light isolation.
