We had a 2 person room and a 6 room. The private room is 5 minutes from the main hostel which we didn't mind and is ideal for some. Both rooms were clean and had the essentials which did include bed sheets. In the 6 room we had our own bathroom which was nice to have. The only negative was that at one point along the road leading from ramblas to the hostel there are some sketchy people at night but as long as you’re sensible this is not a problem at all and should not put you off staying here. Great hostel, very secure but in a very bad part of town. about 10 minutes walk from las ramblas, and 30 minute walk to the barceloneta beaches. Staff were very friendly but fairly strict. Watch out for pickpockets in and around the area of the hostel, we had a friend who was pickpocketed 30 seconds away. Raj, from Canada ~ 24th May 2009

The hostel was AWFUL. There were homeless people, prostitutes, and all sorts of questionable characters outside at all times. Inside our room was so dank we all left with sinus infections. There were 2 staff members that spent more time making out with each other than they did helping the guests. We also found roaches in our room and shower. The paint was peeling and the walls were moldy in the bathroom. If I based my entire trip to Barcelona on where I stayed then I'd never go back Jodi-Ann, from USA ~ 15th Jul 2009

The hostel was cold, drafty, and dim. It was located in the center near Las Ramblas which was great, but it takes about 7 minutes to walk to it from Las Ramblas down a very unsafe street - full of prostitutes and shady characters. Be Careful! There were police raids down there when I was staying there. In the hostel I felt safe bc you need a keycard to get in. nice stay, but the rooms definitely got a claustrophobic character, as well as sthe shower. the beds are extremely loud and not so well stabilized, but all in all the hostel's nice with a nice staff and many tips where to go & what to do. overall recommendable. Johanna, from Germany ~ 9th Dec 2008
