I was very pleased with this hostel and all the employees. They were helpful in acquiring tickets and writing in Chinese destinations for taxi drivers to read. The food was excellent but the chef was slow. The people at the front desk answered my many questions without hesitation. This hostel was satisfactory. The people were nice enough, the breakfast was good, the room was one of the best things about the place, and the location was pretty good for the price in ShangHai. Everything was met to our expectations (no complaints). Magdalena, from USA ~ 25th Dec 2011

There is nothing to tell to these guys. very clean, very nice, very professional, very quiet while your reading your thing, very respectful while asking you about things you shouldn't have done. Only thing I want to add. I know that Chinese people are not so emotional, but since you guys receive western people you will have to know that Westerns wants you just like that with a smile. A smile is safety, security and positivity. If you guys will add smile, specially the girl at the bar, you will Imad, from Morocco ~ 9th Jan 2012

This is great value for a hostel. It's big, nice and pretty clean. There's a nice lounge with bar where they have free breakfast every morning (although no coffee). It's a short walk to the metro, although the hostel is not close to the Bund and those attractions. Overall, a good place if you're on a budget. Plus, get the beer tower and share- the cheapest way to drink the beer. Elizabeth, from USA ~ 3rd Nov 2011

All in all, a good hostel with a rather poor location. We stayed in a double bedroom, which was pretty expensive for Chinese dorm standards but also clean and modernly furnished for Western standards still a bargain. Staff was always friendly, but not too helpful when it came to organizing individual trips to Suzhou and Zhouzhuang. The breakfast is borderline bad (very small selection, no food 45min prior to official end, some hot dishes already cold upon serving) and Chinese/Western-mixed. Georg, from Germany ~ 8th Nov 2011

Had a good time here. Good prices, clean, friendly staff and subway nearby. Edwin, from Netherlands ~ 15th Oct 2011

Definitely get what you pay for here. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean. Security was a little scary. There were lockers in the rooms but you had to buy the lock from the front desk. Also, don't be misled by the name. This is in a pretty out-of-the-way residential area of Shanghai, and its proximity to a subway line doesn't change the fact that it will still take about an hour to get to the "downtown" areas of Shanghai. If you're strapped for cash or the better hostels are all full (true o Luke, from USA ~ 9th Oct 2011

We are teachers and came with a group of students and both groups were extremely happy with this choice of hostel. The staff is incredibly friendly and did everything to help us and the hostel's atmosphere is wonderful! Stefanie, from Germany ~ 7th Oct 2011
