Great Location with beautiful views. Parking is a considerable distance from the hostel but it was free in the city so cant complain too much. the staff was not very reassuring about the security of the parking area but they have plenty of locker space (bring a lock). this hostel is very large and busy so it doesnt have a very inviting homey feel. dorm rooms are way too large so its very difficult to get good night sleep. many people arriving midnight and later. was very clean. best part

Once you get over the old smell that lingers about the place it actually becomes quite homey, location wise it has to be 10 out of 10, a 15 minute walk puts you in the heart of pier 39 and all the attractions, well worth a nights visit

the wharf is fine. However, my Dad had booked the weekend through Tuesday at the City Center Hostel. When I got there, they told me I couldn't have the space because I didn't have my out of state ID. They said it said so on the City Center website. My dad said that he looked through all the information on their website, and that the only thing it said that he could find was a place under "what you'll need when you arrive" where it says "a valid government ID or passport! We had a very mixed group of several different ages groups. The beds are a little hard and the pillows flatter then sheets of paper, but in general not too bad. The food in their Cafe was really good and one of the best features of the hostel.

Other than the very rude lady above me (Who must have thought she was staying in a Hotel) and the mattress being very stiff... I slept on my back and my left arm kept falling asleep... it was a little weird! Maybe I just have a vein in the wrong place?! :)
Everything was great. The staff was super awesome! And the other bunk mates were very nice too! They really seem to have all of their programs organized well. I would recomend this Hostel to others and I would love to stay there again

This hostel was by far the best I've stayed in. The rooms and common areas were immaculate, the staff was very friendly (especially when I had to cancel the last 3 nights of my stay and received a FULL refund on the spot), the free breakfast in cafe franco was absolutely delightful (not to mention the views of golden gate from the window!), free internet was fast, overall a great experience. It is kind of far from downtown but nothing a quick bus ride that picks up a block away can't fix. My onl
