We were a bit weary on booking at the Heart just because of the bad reviews it got on several sites, complaining about sheets getting rotated and bed bugs but we had no problems at all, we arrived late at night with a car and the "valet" service as such was finished so one of the guys from the hostel came back to where we had parked the car and drove around the centre of Amsterdam for about half an hour with us until we found a Parking spot, and then refused when we offered to buy him a beer!!!

GOOD LOCATION, GOOD BREAKFAST, TERRIBLE ROOMS: DARK AND ENCLOSED. TOO MUCH NOISE, TOO MUCH DRUGS (NOT ONLY MARIHUANA, BUT COKE AND ECSTASY). SOME PEOPLE GO TO AMSTERDAM FOR THAT REASON, BUT YOU SHOULDNT HAVE OVERDOSED PEOPLE LYING NEXT TO YOU IN YOUR ROOM.

We stayed here for 2 nights and found it to be an amazing place that is also good for the budget traveler. When we got to our room, "The Lord of the Rings", we found a nice lcd tv, ample living space, and a clean bathroom with hot water. Will definitely recommend this hostel to anyone.

the best location in the hole of amsterdam right in the middle of the red light district. great buffet breakfast & the themed rooms were great we were staying in the darthvader star wars themed room. it was also the cleanest hostel i have lived in

It was in the middle of renovation when I went. They were putting in large flat screen tvs in the rooms and all the halls and stairs were pretty sketch like you'd feel like you'd fall though them... but the were well on there way the "lobby" was all decked out with new leather couches and such. Only internet was wifi and that was free. Great location but for not for the light sleeper, middle of the Red Light District, 3min walk to dam square and a 5min walk from central station.
