Hostal Don Claudio in Bilbao, Spain

A group of us stayed for 2 tonights, and it was basically a hotel with shared bathrooms. It was amazingly clean, quiet, and comfortable. The only downside is that it´s a bit of a walk from the center of Bilbao because it´s in a suburb, but it´s a 2 minute train ride away. It´s perfect. Would recommend to anyone! the room smelled of sewer and drying paint. the place is out in the suburbs and not in the city of bilboa. if i went back to bilboa i would not stay there. denise, from USA ~ 11th Apr 2009

The security was good but not very clean. People were alowed to smoke inside the rooms so it smelt kind of bad. There were two bathroom to share with no trash bin, and it smelt bad as well. It´s also located on the outside of Bilbao, more industrial, but very close to a train station to make it easier to access the rest of the city. Alicia, from USA ~ 2nd Mar 2009

A delightful place to stay except the door handle kept falling off and when we reported it, the handle was just pushed back in and immediately fell out again. This hostel is OK if you are looking for a cheap stay in Bilbao and you don't mind about being far from the action. The train station is very close and can take you to Abando central station in a few minutes. I would not recommend it if you care about convenient locations.
