the beds very really ugly and smelled. Ina, from Germany ~ 1st Sep 2009

assets: free internet, lockers (though now big enough for full size pack). drawbacks: bitten by lots of bugs so maybe not real clean beds, giant trash bins in bathrooms for used toilet paper should be emptied more often. Lisa, from USA ~ 13th Aug 2009

Hostal Facundo was one of those hostals that provided just a place to rest your head, but nothing more. The positive is that it is centrally located and if you can get a private room. Other than that, the hostal was "clean enough" in that I didn't feel like I was going to catch anything from the bed or shower. Next time I am in town, I'd probably elect to stay somewhere else though. Andres, from Colombia ~ 7th Aug 2009

Very well located hostel (5 minutes walk to the city center or the beaches). Staff is not helpful : they did not give me any information but asked me 3 times if I had already paid for my stay. Rooms are 'basic' and VERY noisy (above all the ones on the main street side: if you can, just ask to move on the opposite side). There is a kitchen but I never cooked there because it was dirty most of the time (cleaned once a day by the hostel). severine, from France ~ 27th Jul 2009

a really lovely hostel,so its a great disappointment to have to mention a big downside to the place: we spent 3 nights at facundo, then booked an extra night a few days later because we thought we'd be returning.we later found we had to cancel the booking, but couldn't get a refund - despite much emailing.instead we were charged the full amount for a night because they maintained we had to cancel at least 7 days before our booked night - even though we booked within 7 days! very disappointing. Nice wee place. Attracts alot of people for kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing. The street is lined with surf shops...probably about 3 in 4 shops!!! Close to the old town walls so everythings within walking distance. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are reasonable. Free internet access, laundry facilities, and kitchen. Spend a day in Morrocco!! 66 euro return on the fast ferry (35minutes) to Tangiers. Haggle with locals in the back streets. And try the cakes and pastries! Kelly, from New Zealand ~ 18th Apr 2009

This place was perfect for a night or two while waiting to head to Morocco (or coming back). It´s clean, close to everything, and safe except no lockers in the rooms. Bit of a boot camp feel, with kitchen hours and internet, but no big deal. I would stay there again. Tim, from USA ~ 6th Mar 2009

Although not the cleanest place, it had a really cool atmosphere. Not the best place to meet people, but if you're travelling in a group it is perfect. I would go back, but not before trying out a few alternatives. That being said...go to Tarifa! Craig, from Canada ~ 7th Jan 2009
