for the price, this hostel was great. the location was perfect. it was right on the edge of the red light district. it was pretty clean too considering the size. my room was super quiet (the lights were out by 9pm) and the staff was super nice. it was a little boring, but i think that might have been because everyone was busy outside the hostel with "other" activities. all in all, a pretty good place for the price.

All in all a good bargain. The bathrooms though were really disgusting at times. Cleaning staff should be on the roster around the clock. Security we believe was good that they locked you at after a certain time. In this part of town you dont want undesirables showing up at your door.

A very busy hostel, we were in a 22bed dorm but it was fine!Bar downstairs is good, area is in the red light district!We only stayed for one nite so it was ok we wouldnt want to have stayed for any more then that tho!

grimey and dark. both my boyfriend and I suffered lots of bedbug bites, the beds are not clean. water was hot for one day out of 4. the staff are ok but can be pretty rude at check out time. too pricey for what you get but that is purely location. big problem for us:no kitchen or common room and food and drink is expensive in amsterdam - unless you like eating chips all the time..

While the location was great there was no meeting area in the hostel to make friends and thin walls and a tendency to echo meant that everyones conversations in their rooms could be heard. The bar really needs to start running some sort of promotional stuff to get people in or hostel residents staying in the bar

On the morning of 3/29/08, my companion and I walked from our Globe apartment down the street to the Globe bar for an advertised "All American breakfast." But when we got there the man serving wouldn't give us the time of day to take our order and when my companion asked how to go about ordering coffie he said, "I'll bring you your fucking coffee... don't start with me." Other guests were extremely noisy, could not sleep for 2 nights, we complained and were moved to room where toilet didn't work. Rooms small and dirty, and way overpriced!!
