Itaca Hostel in Barcelona, Spain

Itaca is a small nice central place. Location the best possible. In Barrio Gotico which is where you want to be for sights, shopping, bars, night life, fun. Nice young female owners doing it for themselves. Strongly recommended. Michael, from Denmark ~ 31st Oct 2009

You cannot check into this hostel until 2:00. However, you can leave your bags there whenever you get there. They somewhat close down from about noon until 2 so that they can clean. They also close down from 4AM until 7AM which isn't good if you are there to party.. This hostel is located right next to the cathedral. It is in a nice location for sightseeing, but it is quite a walk from the beach so if that is what you are there for, you might want to be closer. They re-charged the %10 percent that I paid for the reservation fee in the website. It was 18 Euros, and they forced me to pay that 18 Euros again. Location of your rooms might not be the same place that they show in the web. They give you a key and sent you 2 blocks away. The room that we were staying was about to collapse in a very bad street. This hostel is the cleanest Ive stayed at, but it's SO boring! They don't have a TV, which is kinda crazy for a hostel. Also, they are all sorts of rules/time restriction on when you can be around. The common room/kitchen is closed for certain hours, which means that your drunk, annoying roommates will return to the room rather than somewhere less intrusive at 3 am.
