Oak Hotel in Tokyo, Japan

Good hotel very close to Inaricho metro station (Ginza line) and 15 minutes walk from Ueno station (JR line), in the lovely district of Asakusa. Rooms are quite small and a bit noisy and the bed is quite hard, but the staff is very helpful and speaks good English. Nice place to stay! Costa, from Italy ~ 24th Sep 2009

The place was really easy to adjust too. Since it is near Ueno station near the Yamanote line, it is relatively easy to get around the city. The staff is resourceful and will help you with things such as calling cabs and explaining how to get to certain places. The Oak Hotel was cozy, clean, and safe. The staff were highly accommodating and friendly. The dorm room was nice and homey, too. It's a stones throw from Ueno station and the JR Yamanote line so it's incredibly easy to get all around Tokyo. I'd definitely stay there again. Melissa, from USA ~ 1st Sep 2009

A great little hotel (with a backpacker atmosphere) in a great location, on the Ginza line and less than a 15 minute walk to JR Ueno station (a major transit hub, and convenient when arriving from Narita). The staff were very friendly and spoke great English. They had an awesome bulletin board with things to do and see and how to do them (i.e. trains to catch, times, etc.).
