I was not expecting this when we tried to find our "hostel". It is a lady's house that doesn't speak a word of English. It's a bit hard to find. You have to turn right at the Focaccia pizza place on the right and then look for the 9 on the street because it won't say "Rina Rooms". You have to go through two doors/stair cases to get to Rina. We stayed in a double bed room in her house. Our room was ok. We had our own bathroom, we were just not expecting to stay in someone's house! Randal, from USA ~ 10th Nov 2009

The room was very clairaudient (the staff watched TV very loud in the evening). Lilian, from Switzerland ~ 19th Oct 2009

Rina was not feeling well so we stayed at Elisabetta Rooms instead. PLEASE APPLY THESE COMMENTS TO ELISABETTA ROOMS!!! The quad we rented was everything we could ask for and more (i.e. stove, fridge). Locations was great and the views unparalleled. It was my husband and another couple of ours and they all agreed that this was the absolute BEST place we could've stayed in all of Vernazza. Thank you! COLLEEN, from USA ~ 30th Sep 2009

Rina room is not easy to find if you check in late. But if you check in at 3-5 pm, the staff will waiting for you at the main street. Rina is very nice person, but her daughter is not. The room is clean. No hair dryer no table but it's still OK for us. Ronnatit, from Thailand ~ 30th Sep 2009

Great location. Rina is very nice, but speaks no English. Bed was comfortable and it had facilities to hang you clothes to dry and a balcony to sit on. I would recommend to stay here, however be aware that its someones house, not a hostel. Hilary, from USA ~ 13th Oct 2009

vernazza is a lovely place, and quite a mission to get there. just be weary if your driving in, you be asked to pay 12 euros a day to park over 1km away from the town, thereis a bus, but it certainly doesnt take you all the way in. also opposite the pizzeria, which has a bridge leading to the sea next to it is the lane you want to take, called via vernaza, dint know where via ettore was... otherwise accomodation is shared with rina and other guests. you do get private bath, via here livin room.. the room was extremely small with not much room for even our luggage. when we arrived our bathroom had an empty packet of hair colouring and the tap wasnt cleaned well. we were asked to check out at 9am which is pretty early compared to other places. Colleen, from Australia ~ 6th Aug 2009

My only complaint is that possibly due to the fact that Rina speaks little English, she does not appear to understand how hostels.com works, i.e. that the customer pays 10% up front and on-line. I could not get her to understand this and had to pay the whole cost of the stay. This was very disappointing, as I had to spend that 10% twice. I would be interested to hear back from you in regards to what recourse hostels.com members have when this occurs. Tyler, from Canada ~ 5th Jul 2009
