Potential to be really nice but issues that need to be addressed include:water pressure, soap in toilets, badly broken (easily fixable) toilet seat. The volunteer staff being there is kind of wierd but they are nice and helpful. They just don't seem to do much and can be a little cliquey, like they have to put up with you being there. I didn't find the staff to be too friendly. That was something I expected a little more of from this hostel. The location was very good...right in old town. Security was good. I really didn't bond too closely with the other guests. The bed was not very comfy but there was an old couch that was very comfortable when I crashed on it and felt the breeze from the window next to it. Despite my nuances, I'd still recommend as it has the necessary basics to make it a worthwhile place to stay. Tim, from USA ~ 6th Aug 2009

The staff is a mixed bag. Too many unfriendly "volunteers" are lingering around and operating the place for their own benefit. The Estonians and the Lithuanian girl are awesome but the Kiwi staff are irritable and need to move on. brendan, from USA ~ 16th Jul 2009
