Tatts Backpackers Adelaide City in Adelaide, Australia

Excellent location in the centre of Adelaide but not much else going for it. Basically the pub owners below wanted a bit of extra cash so rent out rooms upstairs but don't seem to care too much. Bed very uncomfortable (some uneven springs wrapped in fabric) and the bathrooms could do with some attention. This is an absolute flea pit, kitchen, showers, rooms, everything as awful, the water stank of some rotting animal carcases, the fridge must not have been cleaned ever and it didnt even work, really dangerous if u wanna get food poisoned. How is this the best rated hostel in adelaDE? Bed sheets never changed, that kind of stuff

Unfortunately not much works in 45 degree heat. Yes, the refridgeration and plumbing did break down which lead to no water. All backpackers were notified that this would be fixed within two hours. We are sorry you didn't enjoy your stay but if the conditions were so bad then why did you extend your stay with us. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in our beautiful country. Thomas

Great place. Situated right in Adelaide CBD. Close to shops, pubs and clubs. The staff are very friendly and more than willing to help anyway they can. Free internet and washing machine an added bonus. Ciaran, from Ireland ~ 15th Feb 2009
