Central City Backpackers is a large hostel, and has kept much of its original charm. There are two long flights of stairs to the reception area, so it’s best suited for backpacks rather than large pieces of luggage. The carpeting in our room needed to be replaced, but it appears that they are gradually working on this. The kitchen has lots of supplies, but stove and toaster appliances do not work very well. Nice Hostel but too quiet....

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Winter here is hard as we do not have many in-house. We run trivia nights, etc. to have some fun. We hope you had a good time in Tassie anyway.

The hostel was in a great location, right in the center of everything. The hostel itself was alright, rooms were very clean, but there weren't enough showers and people had to wait. Staff was nice. Only downside is the atmosphere. There isn't one. It's not a social place,

Hiya, sorry for the lack of showers that you experienced. You may not have been aware that we have 2 female bathrooms on 2nd floor where you were staying.
