The place seriously smells like vomit ( I think the carpet/flooring needs to be changed asap) , and the french chick that showed me around was rude and unenthusiatic in showing me around that it actually messed up my views on the hostel thinking all the staff were like that. I soon found out that she was the only one who hated her job and a thumbs up to Midnight Mike who was very helpful. Overall...I actually enjoyed the stay and it turned from a nightmare into a dream...had lots of fun....T Justina, from Australia ~ 19th Nov 2009

I've stayed at USA Hostels for 2 nights and was great, all staff is so gently and cool, they help me with everything. I totally recomend this hostel for your stay, it's near a lot of pubs and clubs. Thank you so much all the staff! Juan Ignacio, from Argentina ~ 4th Nov 2009

I stayed here and it was great. The only downside was it was noisy- not only inside the hostel, but the club next door and police sirens until 4am. All the staff were great- a pleasure to meet. Thanks Phil, from England ~ 28th Oct 2009

word of advise linens do not include towel is an extra $, bring a lock for your locker of its $3, and there is a way to get to the hostel on the subway just google LA subway map and work it out. One last thing the shuttle is not free. Its 14 on way and 16 the other. This hostel is great for location and cleanliness, but other than that you are on your own. the staff is not friendly. I would stay there again, but now I know bring everything I need and expect no assistance.
Thank you for your comments, but please let me further clarify. The lockers do not cost for guests to use as they are not coin operated like at many hostels. Many backpackers carry their own locks, but we offer locks for sale at the front desk as service in case someone does not have one. Also, we charge $2 for towels for the duration of the stay simple to cover the costs of washing and for those that are kept as 'souveniers'. The airport shuttle to the hostel is free with a two night stay. If guests use the recommended shuttle service it costs $8 and is refunded at check in with presentation of the reciepts. If guests choose another shuttle service, we also refund $8 as long as the guest presents a receipt. Return to the airport is not free, nor do we state that it is. For guests wanting to save a few $$ we are happy to show them how to get the the airport via the subway.
