The place was miserable, dirty impersonable, and infested with bed bugs. Benjamin, from USA ~ 30th Sep 2009

I do not advise this youth hostel: it's the worst I've ever slept in. Very noisy: there's no wall! no privacy. camille, from France ~ 17th Sep 2009

decent place. a bit pricey for what you get, buttt thats just venice i suppose. The doors dont lock to your room, and the rooms are seperated by thin walls that dont go up to the ceiling, so you can hear people quite easily from the room next door. there are lockers with locks though. The hostel is divided into men and women sides, but i heard a few mens voices next door, so i dont think its really enforced. The internet was not available the first 24 hrs i was there. Some weird Erin, from USA ~ 11th Jul 2009

If you are looking for character and a fun place to stay, this is not the hostel you want. The property is nothing short of a renovated warehouse full of military 'barrack-style' bays overrun with loud, obnoxious, and drunken 16-17 year olds. The staff is bored, condescending, and surly. If you are not a member of Hosteling International an additional 3 Euros are incurred per night. Recommendation: Extremely disappointed. Hands-down the worst hostel I have ever stayed. The hostel is off the main island so you have to buy a 22 euro pass to use the boats to get to. However, the main island is swarmed with people all the time so I liked being off the main island. Plus, having the boat pass gave me a great excuse to take the boats to various islands (i especially suggest Murano and Burano). All in all, I would stay here again. Alyson, from USA ~ 28th Jun 2009

meh. typical IH hostel. not very lively in the social department. people range from cool to sketch. on a separate island from the main venice attractions which means 6€ per ferry ride...unless you black ride (suggested). would not stay here again. Scott, from USA ~ 29th Jun 2009

I thought this place was pretty great. They had everything I needed and more, and it was very comfortable. If you don't mind an entire staff that's rude as hell, it's pretty good. Kyle, from USA ~ 27th Jun 2009

There isn't much to do at the hostel besides sleeping and having breakfast. The 16 bed male dorm tend to get pretty noisy of people getting in and out and opening their lockers. Sharing 2 showers for several rooms makes it a little crowded and there is only a curtain to divide your naked body and the bathroom hallway, so be careful not to slip. Other than that, it was okay and the price is very good (€22.5 for 1 night in 16 bed male) Antonius, from Indonesia ~ 10th Jun 2009

Segregated sleeping areas in large dorms, but well laid out and clean. The hostel is off the main island of Venice across the lagoon on Guidecca, but it's easy to reach on the 2# Vaparetto (every 10 minutes from the train station) which runs until late. The view from the hostel is outstanding as it's nearly opposite to St Marks. Beds are basic, as is the breakfast (roll, coffee and juice) but as a bargain base in Venice it's definately worth considering. Dawn, from England ~ 4th Jun 2009
