this hostel was incredible! it was clean, friendly and only a half hour walk downtown. i had a hot shower and a great breakfast every morning. im was a 26 year old female traveling alone and felt very safe there. great hostel!

Warm, hospitable welcome & easily located from downtown Anchorage. The smell of coffee greets you at breakfast which is provided gratis - - - Great! Plus DIY tea & coffee anytime and no daytime lock-out. Can highly recommend for genuine travellers of all ages.

There is a man who apparently stays there all the time, who claims to know the owners and "work" for them. He constantly walks around telling people to be quiet, turning down the tv without asking those who are watching, and telling people to pick things up and put them away. He seems to be somewhat mentally unstable, and his presence makes staying in this hostel unpleasant. He is the reason I rate Staff as Very Poor, the actual manager and his wife or girlfriend are very very nice people.

Good place with a nice staff. Internet available. Good breakfast too. Covinient location for REI/AMH (climbers and those headed outside). Bus stop to airport located nearby. Great price.
