sometimes water pressure very low, but this seems to be a common problem in the area from talking to others at other hostels.. staff makes you their family and are a great pleasure to stay with, make you feel at home.

nice hostel..Clean rooms, good location in the centre of the town about 20 mins walk from the gate. My room didnt have air con but it was surprisingly cool (it had three windows overlooking the valley and there was a lovely breeze). The owner is lovely. He was still awake to welcome me at 2am and drove us down to petra in the morning and was happy to help arrange cheap taxis or anything else we needed etc.

The staff was super helpful and we got all we needed. Only downside was a lively cockroach which decided to pay a visit to our room one night...
Nasser and Leah were very friendly and attentive, one of the greatest hosts I have ever met. Although I was not fond of the room and the bath, the food was excellent and well served. In addition, Leah made additional food for us for the day-long trip in Petra. Nasser looked after us as we were some relatives. Thank you Leah and Nasser :O)
It was my third stay in Petra Gate Hotel. First time,in February, I came from Aqaba to Petra for only a few hours, just to see Petra and go back for night to Aqaba. When we were inside Petra it started to snowing and within one minute we were completely wet. Our jordanian friend recommended a Petra Gate Hotel as a friendly, safe place to sleep. The manager of hotel, Naser, picked up us from Petra by his car and said "hello" in our language. The receptionist, Lea, gave us her own clothes, that we could wear for two days untill our wet clothes became dry. After delisious meal Naser played gitar and we danced. The rest of tourist join us and we had a very nice party. We decided to stay for one more night and come back to Petra Gate Hotel in May for our holidays and again in July. I recommend Petra Gate Hotel. You will find there everything you need on resonable price and a warm, domestic atmosphere.
